Update: After getting the 'ran out of space or wrong version' at least ten times, I just figured I would leave the usb with the files plugged in. I left it overnight, and about 2 minutes into my trip of the day, the successful update message appeared. I am now running Sync 3 version 3!
Ford Sync 3 2.2 Update
- These unit do not come from the supplier that builds them with the latest updates. That is Ford’s job as Ford produces the updates and the main feature of Sync 3 was Wi-Fi updates. Ours updated first night parked at house and Wi-Fi. Our two Sync 3 Fords tell us several times a month it has updated and what was updated.
- SYNC3 is becoming synonymous with Ford as it is now being or would be offered in their entire refreshed product portfolio right from Freestyle to Mustang. This thread lists out the steps to carry out the update successfully. Prerequisites require a Ford vehicle (which in my case if Ford Endeavour) with SYNC3 system and Ford Owners login page.
- To update your Ford SYNC®3 Navigation System, follow these steps: INSTALLATION OF FORD MAP UPDATER Visit ford.naviextras.com and download the proper operating system version of Map Updater After installation, start Map Updater Create an account by adding: A valid email address A password Your vehicle’s VIN number for identi-fication.

Ford Sync 3 2.2 Update Download
New to the forum, first post! I just traded in my Civic Si coupe for a 2017 Premium Ecoboost Mustang convertible and I'm loving it. Question..
I want to give my Sync system an update, since it's an older model.
It says it's currently running Sync 3 version 2.2. Is 2.2 the latest/final version for the 2017 model year?
It won't download anything new over Wi-Fi, and the file from Ford looks like It's Sync 3.0.. an older version than what I already have. A little confused here.
